The 100 workers at JFK servicing United Airlines will now move to nearby airports according to ABC7. According to the New York Times, United Airlines was flying during times that weren't being used by other airlines however now that travel is back to the same levels as before the pandemic those slots needed to be returned to the other airlines. “Given our current, too-small-to-be-competitive schedule out of JFK - coupled with the start of the Winter season where more airlines will operate their slots as they resume JFK flying - United has made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend service at JFK,” said United Airlines. Since the FAA did not let United Airlines bring more flights to the airport they are temporarily stopping service from JFK. Before that United Airlines hasn't been at JFK for 5 years before 2021, according to Reuters. United Airlines has been flying at least twice a day from JFK to San Francisco and Los Angeles this past year. Service is being suspended from United Airlines at the JFK Airport which is coming at a surprise to most, but the airline had requested additional flights from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to keep up with other airlines going in and out of this airport.
